Coyne was living up in Moose Lake. He used to drive down every weekend for band practice and to hang out. I took a trip up to Moose Lake one weekend to write and record some new song ideas. Which Way Does the Wind Blow, Stars, Your Feeling Is Your Friend, If You Think You Know, and Unnamed Song were all recorded up in Moose Lake. Mike had his Djembe out, and we added it to several of the songs.
I think Lime recorded and mixed the next 3 songs, Proximity, Fine Apple, and Cats in Outerspace for a class she was taking in college. She was living at the Boat House in South Minneapolis at the time. I can’t remember if we used to practice there or just hung out.
Desert Owl was just a jam we came up with at a practice. Newer Song and 1.21 Jigawatts were songs that were never completed. We had the music but never got around to adding words. I think they were pretty catchy though.
